FEEDING WITH BRITT
Preparation. Answers. Guidance. Confidence.
Registered Nurse and IBCLC led infant feeding, newborn, and postpartum care serving the Northshore and New Orleans.
You've probably been told that feeding your baby will just happen naturally — that it's instinct. And that instinct is real. But the actual skills it takes to feed your baby, however that looks for your family, don't always come as naturally as that instinct does.
Feeling prepared and confident before your baby arrives makes for a healthier, more peaceful start to motherhood. And if you're already in it, trying to sort out a feeding challenge on your own — without an expert eye — can delay the care you and your baby need to thrive.
Either way, thriving doesn't have to wait until things fall apart first.
That's what Feeding With Britt is here for: guiding you into this feeding journey feeling prepared, clear, relieved, and confident.
Hi, I'm Britt
Fifteen years as a nurse — twelve of them at the bedside in Mother-Baby and NICU care, many of those years also as an IBCLC — taught me that a hospital stay is over in days, but what a family needs is only just getting started.
Feeding is where I've always felt the pull hardest. It's the first relationship your baby will ever build — something you'll be doing for more than half your waking hours, every single day. Get it right, and it can carry your whole postpartum experience. Get stuck in it, and it can break the same. I've spent my career standing right in the middle of that, and somewhere along the way, I fell for it — watching that bond take shape right in front of me never gets old.
That's what Feeding With Britt is built on: everything I learned in Mother-Baby and NICU care, paired with my IBCLC training, so every family gets the most comprehensive standard of care I know how to give. I care about a mother's own recovery as much as her baby's feeding — and instead of being handed off between providers, you stay with me through the whole transition. It's exactly why I left the bedside.

She was told to keep trying — for a month.
One mother I worked with spent a month being told the same thing by her OB and her lactation consultant: keep trying, it'll come. What was actually happening was Insufficient Glandular Tissue (IGT) — a physical limit on her milk supply. No one had caught it until I looked closely enough to see the whole clinical picture, not just the latch. Once we knew, we stopped chasing a number that wasn't coming and built a plan around what her body could actually do.
That's the difference between being told to try harder — and being told what's true.
Families who've been where you are.
"She helped me feel confident and prepared going into the hospital."
"I saw Brittany for a prenatal lactation visit before my baby was born, and I'm so glad I did. She helped me feel confident and prepared going into the hospital, and I knew exactly what to do right after delivery... Now, 11 weeks after birth, we are finally full-time breastfeeding. I truly don't think we would've made it here without Brittany's knowledge, encouragement, and compassionate care."

"She immediately put me at ease with a clear plan."
"After having a 36-week preemie and being told she'd only be able to feed with a nipple shield... I was overwhelmed and nervous about my breastfeeding journey. Brittany made time in her schedule to see us the day after we got home from the hospital and immediately put me at ease with a clear plan. A few weeks later, my daughter was successfully nursing without a shield!"
